Band
One band, one load-in, one contact, and your night is never handed over to someone new partway through.
We cover the wedding music all day long: you pick the ceremony songs, we play an acoustic cocktail set, a dinner set that stays under the conversation, up to three dance sets, and we handle the microphone the whole time.
There is no set ceremony package here. Send us your song list and tell us where each piece goes: the seating music, the entrance, the moment itself, the exit. We will learn those songs and hit the cues. They do not have to be on our regular setlist, and they do not have to be wedding songs. Just get the list and schedule to us with enough time to rehearse.
Before making plans, check your venue's policy and tell us what it says. Some ceremony sites permit only musicians without amplification; the venue makes that call, not us.
If you'd like more background, read what a live band plays during a ceremony and how to choose your ceremony songs. If you're still deciding who should play, see harp, piano, organ or a band.
As guests come in, head to the bar and begin talking, we play an acoustic set. Sonny uses percussion instead of the full kit, which can keep the room quiet enough for conversation. You still hear the same three players and the same voices, at a volume low enough for a hundred people to introduce themselves.
This is the stretch that most often gets handed to a playlist. Going live instead means the shift into dinner can happen on a cue rather than a fade. Cocktail hour music with a live band breaks down what that hour actually calls for.
A quieter set for dinner and toasts. Still live, still us, just aimed under the conversation instead of above it. The craft here is all about volume: loud enough so the room doesn’t feel empty between courses, quiet enough so no one at a round table has to raise their voice.
The band handles the microphone, too, so toasts fit within this set rather than breaking it up.
We can play up to three sets back to back, each with about forty-five minutes of music. Six decades of hits, all in the original key and at the original tempo.
See the setlist page for the complete running order, with every song and its runtime, not just a sample.
Rik and Bob take turns at the microphone, following the running order you approve in advance: the wedding party's entrance, the couple's entrance, the first dance, parent dances, the call to eat, speeches, cake, last dance and send-off. This comes with your booking under the same contract, and you can find more detail below on this page.
We bring our own complete PA and stage lights to each show, giving a backyard the same production a ballroom gets. When a venue has a house system, we use it instead. That often works better in rooms already set up for speeches.
Rik and Bob both handle the microphone, so announcements never hold up the music.
Our PA runs all night, not only during our sets. As guests arrive and between sets, we play recorded music through it, a playlist from a laptop. If you want more, Ricky Bobby DJ is a separate offering of Ricky Bobby Music that you can book together with the band in one booking.
You can pick the music, or tell us the mood and we’ll pick it. If you’ve hired your own DJ or host, they can use our system.
Yes, and ceremony music is handled by request rather than through a package. Send us your song choices and let us know which part of the ceremony each fits, and we'll learn them even if they're not already on our setlist.
We play an acoustic set for cocktail hour. Sonny switches to percussion instead of the full drum kit so people can still talk comfortably. Then we play a softer set through dinner and toasts, keeping the volume under the conversation rather than over it.
We can perform up to three dance sets, with each set running about forty-five minutes of music, and we'll keep playing for as long as you want. The ceremony, cocktail hour and dinner fall outside those sets and are planned separately, based on how much of the day you'd like us to cover.
I am an automated assistant, not one of the band. Ask about the setlist, the show, or what we need from your venue. If you want a date looked at, I can pass your details to Rik, who handles booking, and I will tell you when I have.
Anything you send here is covered by our privacy and data use page. Prefer a person? Use the booking form.
