DJ
Ricky Bobby DJ is an Austin DJ service from Rik Avalos and Bob Michaels, the two frontmen of Ricky Bobby. Book a disc jockey with us and your guests pick what we play.
Rik Avalos and Bob Michaels both show up for your DJ booking. Rik is Ricky. Bob is Bobby. In the band, Rik sings and plays bass, and Bob sings and plays guitar. As Ricky Bobby DJ, we're the two guys in Talladega Nights race suits, joking in Southern accents. The suits are a homage to the movie; we're not playing its characters.
Ricky Bobby DJ lets you put the song list together before the event or build it on the fly. Have your picks ready? Send them ahead. Want to leave room for whatever comes to mind at the party? Our system downloads music in real time at the event, so a requested song doesn't have to be in the library we bring.
Ricky Bobby DJ brings the same PA, stage lighting and smoke used by the band. See lighting and effects. Smoke needs a closer look at the room: as our guide to haze, bubbles and confetti: what venues allow explains, the type of smoke detector affects whether a venue can use haze or smoke.
At an Austin house party, plan the loud music before 10 p.m. The City of Austin allows residential amplified sound between 10 a.m. and 10 p.m., capped at 75 decibels. City rules prohibit amplified sound carrying past the property boundary between 10 p.m. and 10 a.m. The City also says residentially zoned properties neither need nor qualify for an outdoor sound permit. Our guide to live music for a backyard party in Austin covers the residential rules.

The race suits come with Ricky Bobby Karaoke and the band, too. Changing the booking doesn't change the outfits.
I am an automated assistant, not one of the band. Ask about the setlist, the show, or what we need from your venue. If you want a date looked at, I can pass your details to Rik, who handles booking, and I will tell you when I have.
