Ricky Bobby Music is a business in Austin, Texas, and it serves as the umbrella name for three offerings. The name is built from the two frontmen: Ricky is Rik and Bobby is Bob.
Yes. You can pair band with DJ, karaoke with DJ, band with karaoke, or any other combination in one booking. Each offering also works on its own. When you book more than one, the same two performers run everything, so your crowd does not get passed to a new team midway through the night. If you're planning a wedding, start with the wedding DJ page.
During live band karaoke, part of the band's offering, a guest sings lead as the musicians play live over the full recording. By contrast, Ricky Bobby Karaoke is a karaoke DJ service that downloads any track you request and plays it on site whenever you want.
Rik Avalos and Bob Michaels handle every offering in the race suits, and when you book the band, Sonny Sanchez joins them on drums. That's the only variation in who performs.
The suits are a tribute to Talladega Nights; we're not pretending to be the film’s characters. During band sets, Rik and Bob goof around with Southern accents, and Sonny does a French one.
Every booking includes the same gear: our PA system and stage lighting and smoke. The PA and lights are our own and come to every booking, or we plug into the venue’s house system; read our guide to decide between using the house sound system or the band’s own PA. Your venue has the final say on smoke effects; our guide breaks down what venues allow for haze and effects. Rik and Bob both handle the microphone, so announcements and toasts do not hold up the music.
No. We have no named package tiers and don't publish rates. We base your quote on the date, venue, event type, amount of music you need, and travel. The band plays anywhere if the price works, including Round Rock, San Antonio, Houston and beyond.
WeddingWire has guides on DJ costs and band costs if you want a sense of what wedding entertainment costs in general. Our own guide goes over the price of a wedding band.
Tell us what offerings you want and where they fit in your event using the booking form. It comes straight to us, not to an agency. You can also contact us at booking@rickybobbymusic.com or (415) 271-9960. We're currently taking bookings for 2026 holiday events and parties.
We work requests made before the date into the night, and with enough notice, the band will learn a song. The setlist lists 70 songs and names the artist who recorded each one; a full night typically includes 39 of those songs.
Ricky Bobby can cover the whole wedding day, starting with the ceremony: music played to the couple’s own song list, an acoustic set for cocktails, a softer set over dinner, announcements and dance sets, combined however you like, as the wedding band page explains.
I am an automated assistant, not one of the band. Ask about the setlist, the show, or what we need from your venue. If you want a date looked at, I can pass your details to Rik, who handles booking, and I will tell you when I have.
Anything you send here is covered by our privacy and data use page. Prefer a person? Use the booking form.
