For hosts seeking Austin gala bands and fundraiser bands, Ricky Bobby is a live Austin cover band and party band based in Austin that works around your program. We play an acoustic set for cocktail hour and dinner, then bring dance music after the formal program. Your auctioneer runs the auction. We stay out of it and come back ready when the room is yours again.
Rik, Bob, and Sonny walk in wearing race suits: a Talladega Nights homage, not a movie reenactment. Rik and Bob give the room a little Southern-accented trouble all night. Sonny answers with a French accent. It is an actual show, with drums, bass, guitar, and multiple vocalists playing live. Want black tie instead? We clean up just fine.
Gala entertainment has to read the room. Our acoustic set works for cocktail hour, dinner, and smaller rooms where people need to talk. When the program ends, the three-piece party band can move into high-energy performances and dance sets built from six decades of hits, including Motown and soul, funk, classic rock, 80s new wave, 90s alternative, Texas blues-rock, and Texas country.
Bring us in for the part of the night you want covered. A full evening is three sets of live music, and we can play dinner, a dance set or the full night.
We do not perform during the auction or take part in it. Your auctioneer owns that piece of the night. Once it is over, we pick the music back up and get the room moving.

Ricky Bobby Music has three offerings that can be booked alone or together: Ricky Bobby, the band; Ricky Bobby DJ; and Ricky Bobby Karaoke. The band gets the dance floor going. The DJ keeps guest requests coming. Karaoke hands your guests the microphone. It is one booking, with Rik and Bob at the center of each offering.

Send your date, venue, and the shape of your fundraiser through the booking form. It goes straight to Rik and Bob in Austin, not an agency. Send the run of show when you have it. We will plan the music around the moments that need it and leave quiet where it belongs.
Rik and Bob both handle the microphone, so announcements never hold up the music.
Our PA runs all night, not only during our sets. As guests arrive and between sets, we play recorded music through it, a playlist from a laptop. If you want more, Ricky Bobby DJ is a separate offering of Ricky Bobby Music that you can book together with the band in one booking.
You can pick the music, or tell us the mood and we’ll pick it. If you’ve hired your own DJ or host, they can use our system.
