Austin Cover Band for Bars and Venues That Need a Show

Ricky Bobby is the live Austin cover band that walks in wearing race suits and plays three live sets.

Book Ricky Bobby for Your Room

Ricky Bobby is an Austin cover band with drums, bass, guitar and three singers. We bring a 70-song setlist, our own PA and stage lighting, and three sets of live music for bars and venues that need more than background noise.

This Is a Race-Suit Show, Not a Background Band

Rik and Bob hit the stage in race suits, trade lead vocals, and keep the jokes coming in Southern accents. Sonny is on drums and sings too. The suits are a Talladega Nights homage, not a character act. It is a live cover band with a real point of view.

Then the music does its job. The first set gives people time to get in the door. The second moves into Motown, soul and funk. The third is fast and loud, with no slow songs. Three sets. Zero dead air.

Live Austin Music With a Published Song List

Talent buyers should not have to guess what the band plays. Our 70-song setlist names every song and the artist who recorded it. It runs from Motown and classic rock through 80s new wave, 90s alternative and grunge, hard rock, Texas blues-rock and Texas country. You can see the song selection before you book the date.

Rik Avalos sings and plays bass. Bob Michaels sings and plays guitar. Sonny Sanchez plays drums and sings. Rik and Bob trade lead vocals, with two backing voices on every chorus. Drums, bass, guitar and every vocal are live.

What Your Bar or Venue Gets

  • Three players, all live. A three-piece live band with three voices.
  • A room-ready show. We bring a full PA and stage lighting to every booking, or plug into your house system.
  • A clear musical arc. A full night is three roughly forty-five-minute sets, about two and a half hours of live music, with an encore if people want one.
  • A set shaped for your night. Tell us the set times and the kind of room you run. Requests sent ahead get worked in, and we can learn a song with enough notice.
  • One point of contact. The booking comes straight to the band, not an agency.

Send Rik and Bob Your Date, Room and Set Times

Run the Whole Night Through One Booking

Start with Ricky Bobby, the band. Add Ricky Bobby DJ when you want guest requests handled before or during the night. Add Ricky Bobby Karaoke when you want the room on the microphones. Rik and Bob run the DJ and karaoke offerings in the same race suits, using the same PA, stage lighting and smoke.

Want guests singing with the band behind them? That is live band karaoke. Book the band, DJ and karaoke alone or together in one booking.

Book Direct With Rik and Bob

Send the date, the room, your set times, and whether you want us on our own rig or your house system. We will build the quote around the date, venue, how much music you want, and travel. Your message through the booking form goes straight to the band.

Bring Ricky Bobby in when you want an Austin party band with a show attached to it. Book Your Austin Cover Band.

Announcements and music between sets

Rik and Bob both handle the microphone, so announcements never hold up the music.

Our PA runs all night, not only during our sets. As guests arrive and between sets, we play recorded music through it, a playlist from a laptop. If you want more, Ricky Bobby DJ is a separate offering of Ricky Bobby Music that you can book together with the band in one booking.

You can pick the music, or tell us the mood and we’ll pick it. If you’ve hired your own DJ or host, they can use our system.
